Stockport Homes & Cheadle and Marple College have worked together on a graden design that has been accepted for the RHS Tatton Flower show. Come and see the garden between 23-27 July 2014.
Stockport Homes has been running a twelve week City and Guilds Level 1 Award in Horticulture since last year and are now running their third course. The courses are very practical and the qualification is recognised throughout Horticulture as the standard for anyone wanting to work in the industry.
It soon became clear that Stockport Homes was developing a very motivated and passionate group of learners who wanted to carry on after the completion of the Award course.
Cheadle and Marple College heard Stockport Homes were looking for practical project and explained that they had been invited to submit a garden design for the RHS Tatton Flower Show. They offered to work with Stockport Homes’ customers to create and submit a design for the show.
Earlier this year Stockport Homes heard that the design had been successful and their customers are now working with the college to grow all the plants needed for the garden.
Ken Cooke, one of Stockport Homes’ customers and a keen gardener said,
“I am really enjoying being part of this project. It has given me more confidence in improving my own garden. I’m very excited about being in the RHS Tatton Flower Show as it is something I never thought I would get the chance to do!”
