
The winning artworks of the 2026 Stockport Open Exhibition People’s Choice Awards have been revealed after visitors to the Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery voted for their favourite pieces.
This year’s exhibition showcased the incredible talent of Stockport’s creative community, with over 250 entries submitted by adults and children. The exhibition featured a wide range of work, including paintings, ceramics, textiles, video and music at the Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery.
Since opening in June, the exhibition has attracted more than 1,700 visitors, with residents casting their votes to decide the winners of the People’s Choice Awards.
Adult Category
- 1st Place: Steps Through Time by Dave Jobling
- 2nd Place: Dave by Wendy Bayford
- 3rd Place: Silence by Shirin Honarmand
Children’s Category
- 1st Place: Night-Watchers by Raizel Jain
- 2nd Place: Luffy by Xander Sims
- 3rd Place: David Attenborough by Ella Goldwater
The Michael Hartley-Rose Award, presented by Stockport Art Guild, was awarded to Oscar Davies for his piece, The City I; a Highly Commended award was presented to Catherine Brown for Sinsir.
Winning artworks can be viewed on the awards’ pages of the Stockport Council website, or in-person at Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery: the Open Exhibition runs until Thursday 27th August.
