Stockport County has unveiled its third kit for the 2026/27 season, inspired by the club’s history of bold decision making both on and off the pitch.
Featuring a vibrant orange base with orange shading and black detailing, the striking PUMA kit uses a lightweight performance fabric and is designed as a sharp contrast to the sleeker tones of the away kit launched a few weeks ago.
The shirt features a black County crest, alongside the VITA main sponsor and back of shirt sponsor Pro Football Academy.
Emblazoned on the sleeve is also official sponsor, Stockport-based brand marketing agency GROFU, who have been a proud partner of the club since 2024. The club collaborated with the agency to produce the official kit launch video and teaser content at the iconic Meadow Mill.
Written and directed by Leif Johnson, creative director at GROFU, the promo video matches the third kit’s bold, exuberant energy, with local legend Mattie Goodvibes and Inspiral Carpets icon – and proud Stockport resident – Clint Boon bringing the party.
The prominent locals were joined at Meadow Mill by a host of County legends and members of the men’s and women’s first team, accompanied by a high-energy soundtrack created exclusively by GROFU and Boon for the launch.
Tracey Neville, managing director of the women’s team, of which the strip will be their official away kit, said:
“We wanted something that made an impression and made a statement when we run out onto the pitch. For us, it’s about putting off the opposition. This strip takes up space, it catches the eye, so that when the players look up all they are going to see is orange.
“I love orange and black. It reminds me of my county netball team, so for me it’s got a real local vibe and brings back a lot of great memories for me too.”
Orange has been a long-standing alternate colour for the Club, most recently in the 2013/14 as a third shirt and more notably back in 1999/00, famously beating Manchester City at Maine Road, thanks to a late Tony Dinning penalty.
Steve Bellis, Club President of Stockport County, who was involved in the official launch added:
“Of course, the game everybody will go to is the game at Maine Road. That night we played in orange, so fond memories for County fans. Although this orange is very different and a bespoke kit for us.
“We’re very excited and proud to be standing out from the crowd once again.”
The 2026/27 PUMA Third Kit is available now online and from the County Store.
