Stockport Council in partnership with the Dogs Trust is holding a dog microchipping event on Saturday 5th October. Microchipping is a permanent method of identifying your dog. The event is being held at Reddish Vale Visitor Centre, from 12noon to 4.00pm.
Councillor Stuart Bodsworth, Stockport Council’s Executive Member for Communities and Sustainability, said:
“I would encourage dog owners who haven’t already got their pet microchipped to come along to the event. Getting your dog mircrochipped will give you peace of mind that should your dog go missing it is far more likely to be returned.”
Dogs Trust CEO, Clarissa Baldwin, OBE said:
“Microchipping is a huge part of being a responsible dog owner. We’re grateful to have the support of Stockport Council and be able to offer this service to more dog owners. A microchip can offer greater security should your dog stray, providing your contact details are kept up to date. We would like to encourage all dog owners living in the area to come along.”
