Stockport’s Essential Personnel share insights from the Workplace Wellness morning hosted by Vitality Group Inc. and Stockport County Community Trust, including tips on mental and physical health, community impact, and positive mindset in the workplace
We recently had the pleasure of attending a Workplace Wellness morning hosted by Vitality Group Inc. and Stockport County Community Trust, and it was both inspiring and informative.
Athos Rushovich: From Heart Surgery to Ultra Marathon
One of the standout moments was hearing from Athos Rushovich of Vitality. Athos shared his personal journey, including the moment he realised he wasn’t “bulletproof,” and his recovery from heart surgery, culminating in running an Ultra Marathon just a year and 8 days later.
His advice on prioritising physical and mental health, particularly during busy periods at work, was practical and relatable. The key takeaway? Small, consistent changes can make a big difference in day-to-day wellbeing.
Community Initiatives by Stockport County Community Trust
Eddie Owen highlighted some of the fantastic initiatives Stockport County Community Trust is running locally.
A particularly moving panel featured Graham, Dave, and Gill, who spoke candidly about how the Trust has impacted their lives. They shared their experiences with the ‘90 Minute Club’, held every Wednesday from 2–3:30 pm, emphasizing the link between wellness at work and positive community impact.
Positive Mindset in the Workplace Panel
The morning concluded with a panel on Positive Mindset in the Workplace, hosted by Gabby Logan.
Listening to Tracey Neville, former England Netball coach, and Lewis Bate, captain of Stockport County, was both moving and thought-provoking. They discussed:
- Overcoming challenges
- Maintaining a positive mindset in high-pressure situations
- How mindset affects both sports performance and workplace productivity
The stories shared were incredibly impactful, resonating with attendees for a variety of personal and professional reasons.
Thank You to the Organisers
A special thank you to Olivia Hanvey, Karina Perry, and Steve Bellis for organising such a memorable and engaging event.
