The Wellspring, a Stockport charity supporting people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, is calling on the community to take part in this year’s Big Sleepout on Saturday 4th October 2025.
The Sleepout brings people together to raise vital funds and awareness for the work The Wellspring does every day in Stockport. By giving up the comfort of their beds for one night, participants will stand in solidarity with those experiencing homelessness and help ensure The Wellspring can continue providing vital 1-1 support, helping people through complex challenges with consistent, individual support. Alongside this, the charity offer hot meals, access to healthcare, and practical help for those most in need.
Said Andrew Ayres, Chair of The Wellspring:
“We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to rebuild their lives with dignity. The Sleepout is not just about raising money – it’s about raising awareness and showing that, together, our community can make a real difference.”
The Wellspring is encouraging as many people as possible to get involved. There are several ways to take part:
- Join The Wellspring in Stockport town centre on the night of 4th October from 8pm.
- Host your own Sleepout from another location – whether as a business, community group, school, or simply with friends and family.
All participants are invited to raise sponsorship through The Wellspring’s JustGiving campaign page. Every pound raised will go directly towards supporting people in Stockport who are homeless or at risk of losing their home.
