Around 180 students from across Stockport College will take part in their first ever Enterprise Fair on Wednesday 27th November in the Multi-Purpose Hall.
This event is free and open to staff, students and the public where students will be sharing the invention and creations they have made over the past 3 months.
Students have been given the opportunity to apply for a £20 loan from the College to help them to create an idea or fundraising initiative; this fund came from the National Association of College and University Entrepreneurs (NACUE).
Also there will be hair & beauty demonstrations, henna hand tattooing, amongst many other activities. It could be a fantastic opportunity to buy some early Christmas presents at the same time as helping to raise funds for the College’s Charities; Genesis Cancer Care and When you Wish Upon a Star, as well as Children in Need.
For the past several months groups of students have been working together on enterprising ideas with the objective of developing their skills in enterprise, team working and employability, with the aim of raising money for charity and having some fun!
The Enterprise Fair takes place between 12.30pm to 3pm on Wednesday 27th November and staff, family and friends are welcome to come along and join in the fun.
Younger Learner Coordinator Christine Sheard said:
“The students have been working tirelessly over the months to make this event possible. We really want to encourage fellow students, staff and members of the public to show their support. During the time fair visitors will be able to buy fantastic goods, try out beauty treatments and take part in activities. Not only will they be supporting two good causes Genesis Cancer Care and When you Wish Upon a Star, as well as Children in Need, they will see the nurturing talent and dedication from our young students.”
Stockport College’s Enterprise Fair is one of many initiatives at the College to support students who want to pursue their own business ideas or enterprise projects.
