As part of the One Stockport campaign, Stockport Council is opening Stockport Local Fund to applications for grants of up to £10,000 available for local community activities and projects.
The Council is encouraging applications to fund new ideas and activities that will support Stockport’s communities in these unprecedented times, from activities that build relationships and increase connections for people experiencing social isolation and loneliness, to supporting digital inclusion and those in financial need.
Applications to continue projects already helping those affected by the pandemic are also welcomed.
Cllr Amanda Peers, Cabinet Member for Inclusive Neighbourhoods said:
The pandemic has shown the tremendous force of Stockport communities, as people came together to support each other. We’re doing all we can to support this effort and I’m delighted to announce that further grants are now available from Stockport Local Fund.
“This funding will make a big difference and I’m looking forward to seeing how this investment will benefit local people, by establishing new ideas and building on the community work that’s already happening. We are particularly looking for projects that build connections and friendships for people who are self-isolating, vulnerable or lonely. This could provide a vital lifeline for those at risk of becoming isolated, not only during this difficult time but also in the longer term, building and maintaining social and support networks where they don’t naturally exist.”
For more information about how and when to apply, where to get advice and support and the types of projects Stockport Council is looking to support through Stockport Local Fund, a virtual workshop will take place on Tuesday 3rd November. Book your place here.
Stockport Local Fund will open to applications on Monday 16th November which can be submitted via the Stockport Council website.
