Housing provider, Stockport Homes Group, will be helping bring the community together this summer by sponsoring the Stockport Pride Market Hall as the Stockport Pride LGBTQ+ festival returns after the pandemic.
The event will be the first in-person event, after the past two years saw the local LGBTQ+ community participate with the online events Global Pride and GM Digital Pride.
Stockport Homes are not only the largest residential landlord in Stockport, but are also architects, developers and builders, and have previously earned wider recognition for their commitment to the inclusion of LGBTQ+ people: the group is ranked on Stonewall’s Top 100 Employer’s List – in recognition of their commitment to providing a welcoming work environment where colleagues are encouraged to be their whole self at work.
throughout the day. The Market Hall will contain dozens of voluntary groups, charities, and other organisations – connecting local residents with advice, support and help to improve wellbeing.
The Chairperson of Stockport Pride’s organising committee, Stephen Bowyer, said:
“We have been extremely grateful for the ongoing support provided by Stockport Homes Group, which has been fantastic support in promoting equality, diversity and inclusion in the borough.”
Organisations supporting this year’s Pride festival alongside Stockport Homes include musicMagpie, HURST Accountants, Adoption Counts, The Ted Darling Crime Novels, Mosscare St Vincent’s Housing Group, Sector3, Lynx Taxis, Totally Stockport and The National Lottery Community Fund.
Stockport Pride will be free and open for all to attend in Stockport Marketplace from 11am until 6pm on Sunday 31st July, with plenty going on for the whole family.
