Stockport employers are being invited to the relaunch of a city-region-wide business network aimed at tackling modern slavery.
The GM Modern Slavery Network brings together businesses from across the city-region to share insights and opportunities to collaborate on tackling forced working.
The network will meet for the first time since 2022 on Wednesday 25th June from 10am to 1.30pm, at the Greater Manchester Digital Security Hub (DiSH) in Manchester City Centre.
The GM Modern Slavery Network previously ran from 2018 to 2022. This event will be a key opportunity to gauge local businesses’ commitment to restarting the network and is open to businesses of all sizes and sectors based in or with a connection to Greater Manchester.
For this meeting, organisations which first established the group, including Stronger Together, The Growth Company, Greater Manchester Combined Authority, The Co-op, University of Manchester and Causeway, will lead discussion.
While a full agenda is yet to be confirmed, there will be opportunities to listen to expert presentations, network with local businesses and take part in interactive discussions and group work. Proceedings will include:
- Welcome address
- Policy and intelligence updates
- Case study on actions to prevent modern slavery
- Group activities and discussions
The event is free to attend and will include lunch and networking opportunities. For further information about the GM Modern Slavery Network and to register to attend, visit the session’s Eventbrite page.
