Stockport County has welcomed Lunar Digital as the club’s back-of-shirt sponsor for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.
Lunar Digital is a data centre operator based in Hulme. The business’ new partnership with the club comes with a personal connection: Lunar Digital’s Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer, Mark Sedgley, is not only a lifelong County supporter but also the grandson-in-law of former Club President Dave Hunt.
A successful local businessman, Dave Hunt joined the County board in November 1986 at a time when the club faced severe financial pressure, and, before stepping down as Managing Director in 1989, helped drive a period of revitalisation that laid the foundations for the club’s successes in the 1990s.
Lunar Digital Co-Founder and CCO Mark Sedgley said:
“As someone with deep ties to Stockport and to County, this partnership means more than just seeing our name on the back of the shirt. My wife’s grandad, Dave Hunt, played a major role in keeping this club alive during an incredibly difficult period. To be able to support County today, in a moment of such optimism and progress, feels like a fitting way to honour his legacy.”
Stockport County’s Commercial Sales Director, Ryan Green added:
“We are thrilled to welcome Lunar Digital to the club. Their commitment to innovation mirrors our own ambitions on and off the field, and the personal connection to Dave Hunt brings a meaningful layer to the partnership. Dave was instrumental in laying the foundations for the club’s growth, and we are proud to celebrate that history as we look to the future.”
