Join Stockport County fans at Edgeley Park for a celebration to remember one of the club’s greatest ever achievements in the modern era.
To mark 25 years since the Hatters were promoted to Division One, Stockport County are inviting players from the 1996-97 team back to the club to give supporters the chance to thank them for their fantastic work.
If you’re a fan of Stockport County, then this is the perfect opportunity to be a part of Hatters history on Friday 14th October and join in an evening of food and entertainment.
THE TEAM
The 1996–97 season is undoubtedly the most memorable and successful in Stockport County’s illustrious history, achieving promotion to what is now the Championship and famously reaching the semi-finals of the League Cup, knocking out Premier League opposition in Blackburn Rovers, West Ham and Southampton. That team contained some iconic players for the Club, such as Luis Cavaco, Sean Connelly, Lee Todd, Andy Mutch, Tom Bennett, Tony Dinning and Mike Flynn – all of whom will be making an appearance on the day, alongside our former chairman, Brendan Elwood.
FOOD & DRINK
Our in house chefs will be preparing a premium, home-cooked buffet for the evening, using local produce and ingredients. Our paid bar will also be available to purchase drinks from throughout the night. From lagers to spirits, we have a large range of beverages available to enjoy with your meal, including Birra Moretti, Heineken and Robinsons Smooth. The event will take place on Friday 14th October with doors opening at 6:30PM. The tickets for the evening are £25, which includes both food and entertainment. WHAT TO EXPECT
Edgeley Park will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the 1996-97 Team’s legendary campaign which resulted in their promotion to the First Division. Expect appearances from legendary figures of Stockport County’s history who all did their part to lead the Hatters to this major achievement. You’ll be able to enjoy a buffet in Edgeley Park’s 1883 lounge with a Q & A featuring former legends. In addition, you’ll have the opportunity for photos with members of the 96-97 team.
