Stockport County Community Trust has announced a new partnership with Dukinfield-based Contact Originators that will support the growth of the club’s Disability Football Programme.
Stockport County Community Trust delivers County Comets, a junior pan?disability football session for children aged 8–16, offering fun and engaging activities in a safe, supportive setting. It also runs County Stars, a pan?disability football programme for anyone aged 16+, providing inclusive training tailored to a wide range of individual needs.
The announcement of the new partnership was made a presentation at Reddish Vale High School on 25th February, where the Trust thanked its new sponsor for helping back accessible football. Contact Originators CEO, Steve Mulcahy, and Nick Mitchell, Operations Director, accepted a framed shirt presented by County Community Trust’s Dave Wardle, Operations Director, and Daniel Landstrom, Head of Inclusion & Participation.
Contact Originators CEO, Steve Mulcahy said:
“This shirt will hang with pride on our company wall. At Contact, inclusion is part of how we operate every day, we’re a team that reflects the strength, character, and diversity of the communities around us.”
Over the past 12 months, County Community Trust has supported more than 100 disabled people through its pan?disability football provision. Support from Contact Originators will enable the Trust to cover venue costs at Reddish Vale High School for the next 12 months, and ensures the long-term stability of the programme. Funding will also support increased staffing to give more people the opportunity to get involved with inclusive football activities in their community.
Dave Wardle, Operations Director for Stockport County Community Trust, said:
“We are delighted to be partnering with Contact Originators, and thank both Steve and Nick for their valued support. This commitment will make a significant difference in the short term and, importantly, help to grow the programme for the future, ensuring football without barriers.”
