6-year-old Albert Seddon from Poynton is the lucky winner of Bellway’s Design a Crown fit for a King competition and receives a limited edition celebratory King’s Coronation teddy bear.
Held at Bellway’s Copperfields development on Dickens Lane in Poynton, the fun competition challenged children to celebrate the historic Coronation of King Charles III by designing a crown fit for the new King.
Children were invited to unleash their imaginations and design, draw, sketch and colour a crown to rival the priceless national treasures used in the coronation ceremony; the solid gold gemstone encrusted crown of St Edward which King Charles III will wear only once for the coronation at Westminster Abbey or the Imperial State Crown that is used more frequently for State, Commonwealth and other official occasions.
Albert impressed the Bellway judges with his super design that took inspiration from the recent Super Mario movie and blended a traditionally regal colour palette of red, white, blue and green with some words of wisdom for the new King’s subjects.
Sales manager at Bellway, Lynne Duxbury, commented:
“We loved viewing the entries and the standard and level of designs made it difficult for us to choose a winner. Albert’s design stood out it was both modern and amusing, something that would perhaps raise a smile for King Charles III who is known for his sense of humour.”
Albert said:
“I definitely didn’t think that I would win the competition. I had been to see the Super Mario movie and it was in my head. My crown says ‘do not question what the King says’ on it.”
With layouts that include kitchen dining and family rooms, luxurious lounges, spacious bedrooms and desirable features such as en suites, downstairs cloakrooms and home offices, properties at Copperfields have been in high demand with homebuyers and only a handful now remain. Bellway currently has three bedroom detached and semi-detached homes and four bedroom detached homes available for sale with prices starting from £444,995.
