Stockport-based charity, Signpost for Carers is supporting Carers Week (8th to 14th June 2026), an annual campaign dedicated to raising awareness of unpaid caring, recognising the vital contribution carers make across families and communities, and highlighting the challenges they face every day.
The week also plays a crucial role in helping people who may not yet identify as carers to recognise their responsibilities and access the support available to them.
This year’s theme, building communities, reflects the importance of connection and collective responsibility in ensuring carers are seen, supported and valued. Throughout Carers Week 2026, the Signpost team will be out and about at locations across Stockport to raise awareness of their work and the work of unpaid carers in the borough.

Bethan Kelly, CEO of Signpost, said:
“Carers Week is an important moment to recognise the vital role unpaid carers play in our families and communities, while also helping more people identify their caring responsibilities and access the support they deserve. This year’s theme of building communities speaks to what we see every day at Signpost, stronger connections create stronger support, and no carer should feel they are navigating their journey alone.”
Signpost continues to work with partners across the region to strengthen identification, access to support, and community understanding of unpaid caring.
