Stockport charity, Signpost for Carers has secured funding to support local businesses with training to support working carers in their workforce.
Think Carer Training is a CPD accredited practical and engaging course designed for individuals who want to become Carer Champions in their workplace.
The training increases awareness of the wide range of unpaid carers and the vital roles they play. Participants learn how to identify carers—often hidden in plain sight—and how to support them effectively, improving staff retention and creating carer friendly workplaces.
The course also explores the challenges carers face and equips champions with the tools and confidence to help carers thrive, both in their caring role and beyond. It’s an essential step in creating carer-friendly environments that truly value and support unpaid carers.
Funding arrangements for the training will be able to allow for one fully-funded place per business or department, depending on the organisation’s size.
While dates for the training are yet to be confirmed, further details about Signpost for Carers’ Think Carer training can be found on the charity’s website.
Based in Heaton Moor, Signpost for Carers is an independent charity, which, for more than thirty years, has worked to support both young and adult carers in Stockport live as fulfilling a life as possible.
