
Stockport-based social enterprise, Mastercall, has won three awards, including two Golds and one Bronze, at this year’s Urgent Health UK (UHUK) Conference and Awards Ceremony, held on 10–11 October 2025.
UHUK is a partnership of urgent healthcare social enterprise providers who cover 64% of the UK population, and its awards have achieved the prestigious Outstanding Award Trust Mark accreditation.
Mastercall won three awards at this year’s UHUK Conference, reflecting the organisation’s mission to lead the way in the urgent health sector in patient safety, workforce wellbeing, and service transformation.
Implementation of the organisation’s Suicide Prevention Strategy was a Gold Award winner in the People First (Workforce) Award category. Mastercall’s initiative equips both clinical and non-clinical colleagues with the skills, confidence, and compassion to support individuals in emotional distress. It also fosters a culture of empathy, openness, and stigma reduction around mental health.
Mastercall’s Good Governance Dashboard was also a Gold Award winner in the Clinical Safety Leadership (Clinical Quality & Safety) category. The organisation’s use of business intelligence was described as ‘revolutionising’ how risk is managed, enhancing patient safety and embedding a proactive safety culture across its services.
A project empowering IV teams to diagnose cellulitis more safely and effectively was also a Bronze Award winner in the Innovation in Action category. Since implementation of the Adapted Opoku Chart, IV antibiotic use has reduced from 87.5% to 36.8%, supporting antimicrobial stewardship and freeing up vital clinical capacity for patient care.
