Mark Rogers, Funding Officer for SKylight, the charitable arm of the Stockport Homes Group, has been named Fundraiser of the Year at the Make a Difference Community Awards.
The awards, held as part of International Women’s Day, shine a light on individuals and organisations making an impact at grassroots level and the vital role they play in strengthening local neighbourhoods in Stockport.
SKylight, part of the Stockport Homes Group, is a community benefit society working to alleviate poverty and support residents. By providing guidance on funding and helping groups in the borough navigate access to resources, SKylight aims to make it easier for community?led in Stockport initiatives to grow and flourish.
This year, SKylight’s Funding Officer, Mark Rogers (pictured), was recognised with the Fundraiser of the Year Award at the Make a Difference Community Awards. The honour reflects the dedication he has shown to support community groups across the Borough. He said:
“Since 2012 I have helped Stockport community groups make over 977 applications for funding, helping groups win almost £7.6 million of grants. I have worked for housing associations across the North-West of England since 1994 as a quantity surveyor, Development Manager and funding specialist: building and refurbishing homes, bringing investment into neighbourhoods and helping community groups bring their projects to life with grant funding.”
Marie Gilluley, Chair of SKylight Board, added:
“Mark’s recognition as Fundraiser of the Year is truly well deserved, his commitment to helping local groups access the resources they need has brought real, lasting impact across the Borough. At SKylight, we are honoured to work alongside so many inspiring organisations who make Stockport a better place for everyone.”
