Stockport County Community Trust, the club’s charitable arm, has launched its annual impact report that highlights the borough-wide achievements the Trust has made over the past 12 months.
The Trust’s 2025 Annual Report reflects the club’s ethos that football offers a way to bring people together, break barriers and create opportunities. The report details a year of initiatives aimed at strengthening the community, and that enhance education, health and wellbeing, and social inclusion opportunities in Stockport for people of all ages, with residents aged from 5 to 89 reached by various projects.
Achievements in 2025 include:
- Over 10,000 participants engaged across programmes, up from 7,000 in 2024.
- £1: £6 social return on investment, meaning every £1 spent on delivering a programme generates £6 in social value for the local community.
- 7,500 school children were engaged through the Together Schools Programme which is offered free to every Primary and Secondary school in Stockport.
- Matchday activities raised £20,000 for charities, including bucket collections for a range of charities across Stockport.
- Over 1,000 young people attended a holiday programme (80% of which were free of charge) and 1,600 free healthy lunches provided.
- 3,000+ participants attended an inclusion and participation programme at the Trust.
- £1 million in social value was generated by Health and Wellbeing initiatives delivered, including the introduction of new Parkinson’s and dementia programmes.
- Over 3,000 PE kits were donated to local children through the Kits By County scheme.
Stockport County Community Trust CEO, Alison Warwood, said:
“This year’s County Report is a celebration of the fantastic achievements Stockport County Community Trust has in 2025. Over the past year, we’ve expanded our reach to more than 10,000 participants per year, grown our programmes across health, education, and inclusion, and harnessed the power of football, and more specifically Stockport County, to create lasting, positive change.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported the work of the Trust over the last 12 months as none of this would be possible without the dedication of our staff, Trustees, and partners. Collectively, we’re building a legacy that makes a lasting difference in Stockport.
“Looking ahead to the next 12 months we will continue to innovate, expand our reach and deepen our impact to ensure Stockport County remains a force for good.”
Simon Wilson, CEO, Stockport County Football Club added:
“The County Report is a powerful reflection of how Stockport County continues to make a real difference beyond the pitch. Football has the unique ability to unite communities, and this report demonstrates the incredible impact our Community Trust has achieved in health, education, inclusion, and wellbeing.
“We are proud to see over 10,000 people engaged in programmes that change lives and strengthen our town. This is about more than football – it’s about creating opportunities, tackling inequalities, and building a stronger, more connected Stockport.”
