Capital&Centric, the developer bringing forward the regeneration of Weir Mill in Stockport town centre, is to launch a new company to serve renters living in its communities.
Ollo will furnish properties in the developer’s growing build-to-rent portfolio, with high-quality appliances and sustainable furniture while also supporting residents with additional services including cleaning and pet sitting. Renters will also be able to communicate with neighbours, access discounts and report maintenance issues via the Ollo app.
The service will initially launch in the developer’s recently completed Eyewitness Works scheme in Sheffield, before being joined by Goods Yard in Stoke-on-Trent, Farnworth Green in Bolton, and Stockport’s Weir Mill when it welcomes its first renters in Summer 2025.
Tom Wilmot, joint-managing director at Capital&Centric said:
“With Ollo, we’re redefining what it means to rent by offering more than just a place to live – we’re building communities where people will thrive. Quality is everything, from the design of the buildings to the spec of the interiors. But life at Ollo is much more than just the spaces, with a packed calendar of socials where you can get to know your neighbours (and their pups!). Start the day right with sunrise yoga, get cosy with a movie night, go wild at a pizza party, or get stuck into wine and cheese tasting.”
Capital&Centric’s Weir Mill development will bring forward 253 new homes in the historic 18th Century building and two additional blocks. The scheme will also deliver 20,000 sq ft commercial space for independent retailers and opening up the public realm along the waterfront overlooking the River Mersey.
