Stockport based health and safety consultancy, Vita Safety, has kicked off 2026 by welcoming Health and Safety Advisor, William Smith CertIOSH, to its team.
Before joining Vita Safety, William worked as a health and safety practitioner in New Zealand, where he had the opportunity to collaborate with a wide variety of practitioners in different industries.
With a background in physiology and occupational health, and experience working within the Healthcare system, he’s particularly interested in how work impacts both physical and mental wellbeing, and how health and safety can genuinely support people rather than just add more paperwork.
William joined Vita Safety because he strongly believes in the company’s flexible approach to health and safety, tailoring advice to suit each organisation’s people, environment, and challenges, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. He enjoys building good relationships with clients and working alongside them to make improvements that feel realistic and achievable.
Outside of work, William enjoys football, both watching and playing (although it’s more watching than playing). He also loves travelling with his wife and is excited to explore more of Europe after making the move from New Zealand.
Commenting on the appointment on LinkedIn, Vita Safety’s founder and Managing Director, Ian Hutchings, said:
“We’re really pleased to welcome William Smith to our team this week. Will’s role as Health and Safety Advisor will bolster our range of experience and capacity to continue to provide quality services and support for our clients.
“Welcome to the team Will!”
