Stockport-based environmental consultancy, APEM Group, has announced the acquisition of a US based marine environmental consultancy, CSA Ocean Sciences.
The deal adds 115 new colleagues into the group, and adds new marine operations services to clients around the world, as well as CSA Ocean Sciences’ established North American footprint.
The acquisition is the first for the Stockport firm since being acquired itself by Spanish consultancy group, Applus+, last year.
Leah McGimpsey, CEO of APEM Group and Executive Vice President, Environmental Services Division, Applus+ commented:
“We are delighted to welcome CSA Ocean Science to APEM Group. As an existing partner we know well, bringing the capabilities of the Ocean Sciences team together with the 1,500 technical experts in APEM Group, will create a powerhouse in the global environmental consulting sector.
“Today also marks a major milestone in the development of APEM Group as we establish a significant footprint in the US to transform our ability to serve clients in North America and other regions globally.
“I look forward to seeing the ways in which our combined team can bring our shared client focus and our science and data capabilities to the world’s largest market for environmental services as we expand the breadth of the work we can do for our clients.”
Kevin Peterson, CSA Ocean Sciences CEO added:
“Joining APEM Group allows CSA Ocean Sciences to capitalize on market opportunities at a scale never before possible. It is extremely rare that two organizations with very similar cultures can come together in a seamlessly perfect technical, operational and geographic fit.
CSA has held a significant position in the marine environmental market for over 50 years and now as part of APEM Group, our capabilities can be leveraged across the globe. We’ve partnered with APEM Group for two years and have watched their spectacular growth, so to now be part of this is extraordinary.
We look forward to serving our customers with a broader range of capabilities and enhanced global coverage.”
