Lots of work has taken place since the announcement earlier this year that Stockport Town Centre had been selected as one of the first Portas Pilot schemes.
The Stockport Town Team was set up to include everyone in the town centre who wants to be involved.
Its third meeting was held in the Market Hall in the Market Place and included a workshop where members of the Town Team were asked to come up with project ideas that they think should receive funding through Portas Pilot and High Street Innovation funds which the Town Team ae responsible for.
Feedback immediately following the event has been positive and lots of interesting project ideas came forward. The Town Team Committee will sift through all the project suggestions and present these to the wider Town Team.
In these formative and important initial months the Town Team Committee is eager to explore ways that
help ensure that the widest possible number of people can be involved and is still welcoming project ideas that would benefit Stockport Town Centre.
If you wish to pursue funding support, please visit www.stockport.gov.uk/portaspilot for a copy of the project
application pack.
The Town Team Committee is also pleased to announce that Carl Bolan has been nominated as the Resident Representative on the Committee. Carl lives in the Town Centre and is Chair of the Mealhouse Brow Residents Association.
The date of the next Stockport Town Team meeting is 15th November 2012. Details will be available at
