Stockport health and safety consultancy, Vita Safety, is hosting an upcoming webinar to help businesses understand their duties under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015).

Whether businesses managing a building refurbishment, office fit-out, or other works may be classed as a client under the CDM 2015 regulations, with legal duties that must be understood and fulfilled to avoid potential pitfalls.

Vita Safety’s free, practical webinar is designed for anyone who commissions or oversees construction work, from first-time clients to experienced property or project managers. Content will include:

• Definition of a Client: Clarifying who qualifies as a client and the implications of having multiple clients or contractors on a project.
• Legal Responsibilities: Emphasis on the client’s duty to ensure suitable arrangements are in place for managing health and safety throughout the project lifecycle.
• Appointment of Duty Holders: Guidance on appointing competent principal designers and principal contractors, and verifying their skills, knowledge, and experience.
• Project Documentation: What to expect from contractors and designers.
• Ongoing Oversight: Importance of maintaining and reviewing management arrangements and ensuring effective communication among all parties.
