Trafford & Stockport College Group has opened a new tech-inspired space for students, employers and the community, developed in collaboration with global technology leader Sharp.
The Hive, at the college group’s Stretford campus, provides a business-informed learning environment that bridges the gap between education and industry. The flexible teaching and collaboration environment is equipped to meet the evolving needs of 21st-century learners.
It also offers space for events, networking, collaboration and connection, a hub where employers, students and the local community can come together.
From interactive tech demonstrations to innovative teaching zones, The Hive aims to spark creativity, encourage teamwork, and foster the skills that students need to thrive in an increasingly digital world. Dedicated student learning spaces are integrated within The Hive, ensuring that learners are supported in developing their skills in a setting that reflects modern business environments.
The opening event on 30 June brought together college leaders, partners, employers and students for a morning of celebration. Guests enjoyed brunch, live tech demos delivered by Sharp, and took opportunities to network and explore the cutting-edge new facility.
The launch of The Hive reflects the ongoing success of the college’s partnership with Sharp. Together, the organisations have delivered impactful initiatives that bridge classroom learning with real-world insight.
From live competition-style projects and employability workshops to digital leadership talks and careers inspiration sessions, the partnership is helping young people develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to succeed in the world of work.
