The BBC’s flagship political debate show, Question Time, made a welcome return to Stockport Town Hall’s iconic ballroom.
A lively audience from Stockport and the surrounding areas had the opportunity to pose their questions to a panel of influential figures from politics, media, and public life during the broadcast on BBC2 on Thursday 23rd January.
This week’s panel featured Lucy Powell MP, Leader of the House of Commons – Labour; Conservative MP David Davis; Green Industrialist Dale Vince; and Columnist and Broadcaster Matthew Parris
The last time Question Time came to Stockport Town Hall in 2021, Fiona Bruce and a distinguished panel tackled major political, social, and economic issues. This marks the third time the iconic programme has chosen Stockport Town Hall as its venue.
In a further boost to the town’s popularity, Stockport has been hailed as the ‘Hollywood of the North’ due to its growing reputation as a popular filming location for some of the world’s leading TV shows and films.

Stockport Town Hall is one of the North West’s most sought-after venues, having hosted over 700 successful events in 2024, including:
