Pupils at Broadstone Hall Primary School in Heaton Chapel are set to benefit from a new Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA).
The new sports facility will be officially opened at 2.30pm on Friday 12th July by former pupil Oliver Martin who is currently starting a professional football career as a goalkeeper with Fleetwood Town.
The school has an enviable record in participation and competition. They are the Greater Manchester Basketball Champions and have been for the last three years and currently runs around 15 different sporting activities; the installation of flood lights on the pitch and playground mean there will be further opportunity for coaching and competition.
Headteacher at Broadstone Hall Primary School, Andrew Heaton, said:
“I’m delighted with the new 21st century sports facility which will benefit current pupils and the future generations within the community for years to come. The school has a great reputation for sport and this facility will enhance this further.”
