Stockport manufacturer, BFT Automation, has expanded its base of operations in the town with the acquisition of an additional warehouse next to its existing premises.
The new facility, which adds an additional 5,000 sq ft to its existing 12,000 sq ft site in Heaton Mersey, will enable the business to increase capacity and improve efficiency. Expansion follows sustained growth for the supplier of automated gate systems, barriers and bollards which is part of the Somfy Group.
The manufacturer expects to complete the move into the new premises in Stockport this summer with minimal disruption to operations.
Commenting on the acquisition of new premises, Matthew Batson, Director at BFT Automation, said:
“Our business has seen steady growth over the past 10+ years and this expansion reflects our commitment to invest in our future.
“The new warehouse gives us the additional space and resources needed to better serve our customers, our staff, and continue to deliver products and services of a high standard. The timing is ideal – working in close partnership with our colleagues in BFT Italy, we are at the beginning of an exciting project to distribute our products into the Nordic countries from our UK operations and this additional capacity can only aid this project.”
