
Residents and businesses interested in making Stockport a more climate and nature-friendly place to live and work are invited to take part in this year’s Stockport Climate And Nature Summit 2025.
The borough’s fifth annual Stockport CAN Summit will include talks from people across the borough, designed to spark imagination and encourage creative thinking, as well as practical workshops and creative sessions for all ages.
Taking place at Stockroom on 4th November from 10.00am to 3.30pm, the event will also see the launch of Stockport Council’s new Climate and Nature Strategy.
The ticketed morning session, starting from 10am will include:
- 10:00 – 10:30 – Arrival and networking.
- 10:30 – 11:15 – Welcome and Stockport CAN.
The Leader of Stockport Council Cllr Mark Roberts and the Cabinet Member for Housing & Environment Cllr Jake Austin will launch the brand new Climate And Nature Strategy 2025-30. - 11:15 – 11:30 – Break
- 11:30 – 12:00 – Community Spotlight.
Local groups leading the way for climate and nature action in Stockport will share how they set up, what progress they have made and how you can get involved. - 12:00 – 12:30 – Delivering CAN Together.
- A workshop to explore how we can all work together to achieve the climate and nature aims of the borough
- 12:30 – 12:45 – Council CAN.
Chief Executive of Stockport Council Michael Cullen will share key council actions and progress over the last year – and where we’re heading in future. - 12:45 – 13:30 – Lunch.
A light vegetarian and vegan lunch for morning attendees.

- Repair, Reuse, Relove – Building Circular Communities
- Growing in Unusual Spaces by The Landing
Other activities taking place at Stockroom and nearby Merseyway will also include:
- Kids Scrap Play, 10:00-10:30 and 11:30-12:00: Children’s area
- Storytime, 11:00-11:30: Tales Beneath the Trees, Children’s area
- Stalls, all day: Come and chat with local community groups and organisations in Adlington Walk
- Nature crafting for everyone, 13:30-15:15: Living Room space
