Stockport County Community Trust is offering a programme of weekly activities for the borough’s Armed Forces community.
Activities are designed to bring people together, improve wellbeing, and strengthen connections and offer opportunities to get involved, meet others, and enjoy some quality time in a relaxed environment.
Sessions are open to members of the Armed Forces community, including veterans, serving personnel, and carers from veteran families. To take part in any of the activities detailed below, get in touch with Stockport County Community Trust’s Armed Forces Co-ordinator, Mark Ward MC.
Pool & Darts
Every Monday from 6pm to 7:30pm, join us at The Salisbury Club in Brinnington (SK5 8BB) for free pool and darts sessions.
These evenings are a chance to socialise, enjoy some friendly competition, and meet other members of the Armed Forces community. Sessions are free of charge, with refreshments available to purchase.
Armed Forces Football
Every Friday from 6pm until 7pm at Power League Stockport, stay active and connected through regular football sessions tailored for the Armed Forces community.
Open to all abilities, it’s a great way to keep fit while enjoying the camaraderie of the game.
NAAFI Break
Take some time out for a brew and a chat on Thursday between 10am and 12pm at Edgeley Park.
These sessions provide a relaxed setting where veterans and families can meet, share experiences, and build friendships.
Wellbeing Walks
Between 10am and 12pm every Wednesday, step outside and enjoy the benefits of gentle exercise with our guided wellbeing walks.
These walks are designed to support physical and mental health while offering time to connect with others.
