Stockport County appoints new CEO

Stockport County has announced the appointment of Gavin Bailey as the club’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), following the departure of Simon Wilson earlier this year after six years at the club’s helm.

Gavin Bailey previously held the role of Chief Operating Officer at Stockport County. While at Edgeley Park, he has overseen significant operational growth and diversification of revenue streams for the side.

He brings a wealth of experience in managing large-scale property and hospitality operations through previous roles across the club’s owner Mark Stott’s wider businesses. Most recently, Bailey led the growth and expansion of CitySuites in Manchester prior to his joining Stockport County in January 2025.

As CEO, Gavin Bailey will oversee day-to-day operations at the club and hold responsibility for ongoing growth both on and off the pitch. His appointment comes as County continues to develop infrastructure, commercial operations and footballing operation as it builds towards the ambitions of Championship football.

County owner Mark Stott said:
