Although Cheadle’s George and Dragon pub remains unsold, Stockport Council’s conservation team have been working hard to force the owners to make improvements to the appearance of the building, one of the first you see when coming in Cheadle from Manchester Road.
The conservation team have forced the owners to replace the plain wooden boards with smarter looking black boards, and ensured the building is aired out to prevent damp becoming more of a problem inside.
Rumours abound of possible buyers, and perhaps a change of use away from being a pub.
