
Following May’s Local Elections, Stockport Council has confirmed that Cllr Mark Roberts will continue in his role as Leader of the Council, while Cllr Jilly Julian will also remain as Deputy Leader of the Council.
Cllr Roberts took over as Leader in 2025, succeeding Cllr Mark Hunter, and will lead a Liberal Democrat majority on the council.
The following councillors will also be part of the cabinet and hold a portfolio of areas across the council that they are responsible for:
- Cllr Dan Oliver, Communities, Culture and Public Protection
- Cllr Grace Baynham, Parks, Highways and Transport Services
- Cllr Colin MacAlister, Children, Families and Education
- Cllr Helen Foster-Grime, Health, Wellbeing and Adult Social Care
- Cllr Micheala Meikle, Economy, Regeneration and Skills
- Cllr Jake Austin, Housing and Environment.
The Council Meeting to formally appoint the Leader of Stockport Council has also noted the appointment of the following political Group Leaders for the forthcoming year:
- Liberal Democrat – Cllr Mark Roberts
- Labour – Cllr Rachel Wise
- Stockport Community Group – Cllr Asa Caton
- Green Party – Cllr Liz Crix
- Independent Ratepayers – Cllr Anna Charles-Jones
- Reform UK – Cllr Brian Battle
