The annual Stockport Business Awards welcomed local businesses to an evening celebrating business excellence in the region, organised by founders and main sponsors, CN Chartered Accountants.
Taking place on 2nd October at Edgeley Park, award winners (detailed below) were presented with their prizes by headline and category sponsors during the evening, alongside guest presenter, Jenny Powell.
As well as the award presentations, attendees also enjoyed networking with the local business community, a three-course dinner, drinks, entertainment, DJ, dancing and a raffle in aid of Moya Cole Hospice with fantastic prizes to be won, thanks to generous donations from the Stockport business community.
The raffle prize draw will take place week commencing 6th October at the new Moya Cole Hospice in Heald Green. The prize winners will be notified and receive delivery of their prize in the following weeks.
Founders, main sponsors and organisers, CN Chartered Accountants, would like to thank all those who were involved and attended the 2025 Stockport Business Awards, particularly 2025 Judges, Headline & Award Sponsors, Design Partner and Media Partner for their continued support.
With over 100 businesses entering this years, there was stiff competition for prizes on the night.
Stockport-wholesaler, Parfetts, won the coveted Large Business of the Year (Turnover £10m+). Guy Swindell, joint managing director of Parfetts, said:
“We’re proud to be recognised in our hometown of Stockport. This award is a testament to the dedication of our colleagues, whose hard work has driven our growth, and to the independent retailers we support every day. From new depots to expanding our Go Local fascia, Parfetts is proving that employee ownership and long-term investment create real strength in the wholesale sector.”
A number of Marketing Stockport members were also among the evening’s winners, including Vernon Building Society, Crystal Clear Media, and Stockport County Community Trust.
Commenting on winning the Employer of the Year Award, Darren Ditchburn, Chief Executive at Vernon, said:
“I’m absolutely delighted to win Employer of the Year at the Stockport Business Awards. Vernon Building Society has been proudly supporting our lovely communities for over 100 years. Our organisation is built on our people – their dedication and talent drive our success.”
The Vernon impressed judges with its transformation of workplace culture, achieving its highest-ever employee engagement scores in 2025. The Society has an average employee tenure of 7.67 years, with 43% of colleagues remaining with the organisation for over five years. Darren continued:
