Cheshire based Speedy Hire Plc, the UK’s largest provider of tool and equipment for hire and associated services, has agreed a 3 year contract to supply National Grid worth up to £6m a year.
Speedy Hire is a client of Stockport based Fairhurst Estates Limited, who manage their estate.
Founded in 1977, the company will supply and coordinate all hired plant and equipment requirements for carrying out work on gas and electricity networks from both its own fleet as well as plant from third party providers.
From its head office in Newton-le-Willows, Speedy Hire’s chief executive Steve Corcoran commented that the contract was evidence of the success of its strategy of focusing on major national contracts.
“The board’s strategy remains focused on generating high quality, secure, long-term and transparent earnings across the group.
Speedy has established itself as the clear market leader in rental services for large volume users such as National Grid and Zadco who don’t just want to hire an asset, but want an end-to-end managed services solution that delivers the highest level of service and helps them manage risk.”
Speedy is the leading UK provider of equipment rental and support services to a wide range of clients across the construction, infrastructure, industrial, manufacturing and facilities management sectors – as well as to local trades and industry.
Operating from 268 fixed sites – together with a number of on-site facilities at client locations throughout the UK, Ireland and from an international hub based in the Middle East – the Group supplies a range of services.
Speedy Hire’s consistent strategy, market positioning and strong market share in key sectors continues to underpin the on-going progress being made by the Group. Performance to date has enabled the Board to reiterate its confidence in meeting its expectations for the full financial year.
