Frederic Robinson has been brewing beer in Stockport for 175 years and is celebrating the latest growth in sales, the success of its visitor centre and a hike in beer sales.
This year has seen Iron Maiden’s TROOPER beer, brewed locally in Stockport by Robinson’s, has become an overnight success; Robinsons are delighted to announce that Morrisons are now stocking TROOPER nationally in over 450 of their stores!
As Trooper makes its way through pubs and supermarkets up and down Britain, orders are also pouringin from overseas as Robinsons have secured orders with Canada, Sweden, Belgium, Brazil, France, Germany, Czech Republic, Holland, Denmark, Switzerland, Slovenia, Poland, Finland, Bulgaria, Spain, South Africa (first time listing for Robinsons), Australia, Taiwan and USA – where there is an enormous following.
Worldwide demand for Trooper ale has both stunned and delighted regional family brewers Robinsons who can proudly say they now brew the ‘most followed’ ale in Britain.
Following the announcement earlier this year that Iron Maiden were producing a beer with Robinsons Brewery, Trooper beer has gone from strength to strength! The unprecedented upfront demand for the beer meant that Robinsons had to brew three times a day, six days a week for the first time ever in their 175 year history to meet pre-orders in excess of 300,000 pints.
Trooper beer was officially launched on the 9th May at Robinsons’ new Visitors Centre… a day that will certainly be remembered as Robinsons Brewery experienced a product launch like no other before!
With a reception attended by over 100 influential brewing trade representatives from both the UK and Internationally, Bruce Dickinson – Iron Maiden’s lead vocalist and the driving force behind Trooper beer – not only attended the Trade Launch, but also conducted a tour of the new brew house to explain to everyone first-hand the process of exactly how Trooper ale is made. Robinsons were so impressed with Bruce’s tour they offered him a slot as a Robinsons brewery tour guide (if he ever gets tired of performing to millions of Maiden fans, flying airplanes, fencing and brewing beer that is).
Trooper is available to order online throughout most of Europe, and Robinsons are working flat-out to ensure it will be available to the rest of the world as soon as possible.
