Robinsons Kick Off Sponsorship with Stockport County FC
Robinsons have just signed an exclusive five year pouring rights deal with Stockport County FC. This move will see the Cheshire family brewers become the sole official drinks supplier for ‘The Hatters’ at their 10,900-seater, Edgeley Park Stadium.
It’s a case of ‘back to the future’ for the two stalwarts of the town, as for many years County wore shirts adorned with ‘Robinsons Best Bitter’ on the front.
The deal was complimented by brewery commitment to provide a ‘Real Ale Bar’ in time for the Stockport County vs. Macclesfield Town game on the 4th September and, if successful, Robinsons have agreed to repeat this for future games.
“Following years of sponsorship, including shirt sponsorship some time ago, Stockport County FC were very keen to work with us again,” commented a delighted David Bremner, Director of Marketing at Robinsons. “This deal is a sign of our long-term commitment to our home town and we will be planning a number of promotions to ensure fans enjoy the best possible match-day experience.”
“With our new state of the art brew house and the fast approaching launch of our fantastic new Visitor and Training Centre, this is an exciting time for us and we already have numerous ideas on making this more than your average pouring rights deal. This partnership is a great showcase for Robinsons, giving us a platform to engage with fans on current and new products.”
The sponsorship includes signage around the grounds, programme advertising, sponsorship of one of the stands, and advertising promotion boards behind each of the goal ends. Certain Robinsons pubs will also benefit from the joint venture gaining access to players, sporting panel evenings, sports forums, special t-shirt collector kit promotions and complimentary game tickets as we bring the two parties closer – especially local pubs the Armoury and the Finger Post who are set to “twin” with the club as Stockport County FC’s unofficial club houses.
Oliver Robinson, joint Managing Director of Robinsons, couldn’t be happier about the renewed partnership: “This really is the re-kindling of a strong friendship and we hope we can work together with Stockport County FC as they surely climb back through the football leagues to where they belong.”
Spencer Fearn, Vice Chairman of Stockport FC, had the following to say when asked about the partnership: “I am delighted that County are yet again working with Robinsons, who have been a supporter of our club for many years. We are looking forward to forming a very strong partnership and completing many joint projects together to benefit the people of our borough”. “We have signed a five year partnership agreement and we are very thankful for the support that Robinsons will provide to us as we enter another exciting chapter in our history.”
