Stockport family brewery, Robinsons, is inviting patrons to celebrate the return of Old Tom on cask to its pubs across Stockport and North West on 1st November.
The 8.5% strong ale will be cropping up across many of the brewery’s pubs between November and January, with 1st November dubbed Old Tom Day, marking 126 years since the beer was first launched.
A full list of all Robinsons Brewery pubs which will be serving Old Tom this winter can be found on the brewer’s website here.
For drinkers in Stockport, the Robinsons Brewery has also created an Old Tom trail, a roughly 3-mile route through the town that takes in seven pubs serving the beer. Writing on their website, the brewer explained:
“As one of our most popular and legendary beers, we know how much of a pilgrimage it is to head to the pub for a half when you can. To make things ever so tempting, we’ve created a trail in our hometown of Stockport pubs, so you have stop off in to indulge yourself.
“Now, of course, we’re all about responsible drinking, so seven pubs may be a bit of a stretch to get round in a day. But, we’ll plan the route between each of them, and you can decide how you want to go about the tour.”
Starting at the Duke of York in Heaviley, the route also takes in The Alexandra, Edgeley and The Armoury, Shaw Heath, before descending into the town centre via the Red Bull on Middle Hillgate, and the Arden Arms on Millgate, before concluding at the Swan with Two Necks in the heart of Stockport town centre.
