Logistics property group, Logicor, has begun a major refurbishment of a 22,000 sq ft industrial and warehousing unit at Lawnhurst Trading Estate in Cheadle.
The group, which owns a portfolio of warehouse and industrial space across Europe, will refit the space off Bird Hall Lane with a range of new measures to improve the energy efficiency of the site and reduce its carbon footprint.
Both warehouse space and an adjoining office rooms will be modernised and gain LED lighting and new level-access doors; the exterior will also see its cladding replaced.
Eco-friendly enhancements to the site will include installation of an air source heat pump and cooling system, as well as electric-vehicle charging points for use by occupiers.
Refurbishment is already underway on the Cheadle industrial unit and is expected to complete by the fourth quarter of 2022.
James Carney, Logicor’s senior asset manager, said:
“We are excited to start work on the full refurbishment of Lawnhurst Trading Estate, bringing the property back to life to provide high quality, sustainable business space for this established industrial location.”
Unit 16 at Lawnhurst Trading Estate comprises an 18,600 sq ft warehouse and 3,400 sq ft of associated office space, off Bird Hall Lane in Cheadle, close to Stockport town centre and junctions 1 and 2 of the M60 for access to Manchester Airport and the national motorway network.
