
Pure have successfully completed a first year programme of Internship at Manchester Airport
Stockport based Pure Innovations has supported 8 young people to successfully complete an internship programme at Manchester Airport.
Following their Interships, six young people have since been offered paid work.
Manchester Airport currently employs more than 10,000 people reflecting a vast variety of skills and job roles including retail, hospitality and catering as well as those that ensure the smooth running of passenger arrivals and departures.
The CEO of Pure Innovations, Louise Parrott-Bates has commented that “working alongside an employer such as Manchester Airport has allowed the young people we work with to gain an invaluable breadth of experience, through Internships, within a supported environment prior to securing paid employment.
“We very much look forward to building on the success of year 1 as we commence our second year”.
Pure Innovations is a charity supporting people with a disability and other barriers to work to get into work; to learn new skills and get involved in community activities.
Pure support people in Stockport with a disability or other barriers such as metal health problems or long term health conditions to get paid work. They support young people with disabilities to become more independent by using public transport and doing work experience.
They assist those with a learning disability in café training at Blackshaws Café in Stockport Market Place, the café in Vernon Park, and the café and visitors centre at Etherow Country Park.
Pure also run an arts studio and projects in local parks and have fundraising projects for young people who are in care and who have left the care system http://pure-insight.org.uk/
