Hall & Co, the Alderley Edge-based developer behind the Profolk co-working space in Stockport town centre, has submitted plans for a 27-home apartment scheme on Churchgate.
The developer is proposing the demolition of existing buildings at 48 Churchgate as well as the redevelopment of a car park to make way for the scheme. The apartment complex will comprise a mix of one- and two-bedroom homes, as well as communal outdoor space. Each apartment will also feature a ‘winter garden:’ and area of living space with significant lighting, creating a space for residents to use similarly to a patio or balcony while remaining indoors.
Jamie Hall, Director at Hall & Co Property, said:
“48 Churchgate is a continuation of a series of projects we are underway with in the Underbanks area, transforming underused buildings to create high-quality new apartments. We’re pleased to be able to invest further in Stockport town centre, contributing to the exciting new vision for the town and its ambitious housing targets.”
The scheme adds to Hall & Co’s growing portfolio in the town centre. As well as having delivered the conversion of Stockport’s Bank Chambers into the Profolk co-working space, the developer is also on site at Albion House and St Mary’s Gate in the Underbanks area.
Hall & Co was advised by Stockport-based Broadgrove Planning and Development in submitting plans. Ollier Smurthwaite are architects on the scheme.
