Senior partner Jonathan Whittaker, from leading North West law firm SAS Daniels LLP, flew to Sweden to share his thoughts on the evolving legal landscape at a global strategy conference.
Jonathan gave a compelling case for the importance of reinvention and innovation in what is a rapidly changing sector. Transformation in the UK market as a legacy of the 2007 Legal Services Act is making waves globally so the subject matter was pertinent to a Scandinavian audience.

Attendees at VQ Knowledge and Strategy Forum in Stockholm heard from a broad spectrum of high-level speakers from across the globe on key issues affecting the legal sector.
Speaking about the establishment of alternative business structures (ABSs), which effectively mean non-lawyers in professional, management or ownership roles can now offer regulated legal services, Jonathan reiterated his view that the profession has room for diverse offerings and will not be solely dominated by fixed fee services offered via the internet and call centres.
He spoke of the need to have a strong proposition to take to market, backed by specialist expertise and a robust commercial offering that is underpinned by excellent value aligned with quality.
This has certainly worked well for SAS Daniels LLP, whose brand proposition of ‘No ordinary law firm’ ensures a refreshing and memorable client experience. This is reinforced by the firm’s strong financial credentials, having reported record billings in the financial year to April 2014, and increased turnover by 25% in the last two years.
With a growing team of over 70 legal advisors, including 24 partners, SAS Daniels operates out of offices in Stockport, Macclesfield, Chester and Congleton.
Commenting on the event, Jonathan Whittaker said: “It was a privilege to be asked to speak at the VQ Conference in Sweden, demonstrating that, as a leading North West law firm our viewpoint translates well to a global audience as thought leaders in a fluctuating legal market.
“I felt it was vital to reinforce the importance of strong leadership and innovation. It’s about challenging the accepted while ensuring that the client remains at the heart of everything we do.”
