Investor exits from Stockport cybersecurity distributor

Investor, NorthEdge, has completed the sale of Stockport-based cybersecurity distributor Distology after backing the firm in 2021.

The deal is NorthEdge’s ninth technology exit and third from its SME Fund 1, selling its stake in Distology to Foresight Group.

Headquartered in Stockport town centre and led by founder and CEO, Hayley Roberts (pictured), Distology is a distributor for cybersecurity vendors seeking to scale across Northern Europe, and also has operations in the Netherlands and Germany.

The investor originally backed Distology in February 2021 to broaden its vendor portfolio, deepen technical capability and scale the business internationally. Highlights for the business over NorthEdge’s five-year involvement include the 2022 acquisition of Squareball and appointment of a CTO and CCO to Distology’s leadership team; in FY26 the firm delivered a 48% EBITDA growth rate.
