Performing arts charity, NK Theatre Arts, has begun the search for new volunteer trustees to join its board and help champion inclusive theatre in Stockport.
Based at The Forum Theatre in Romiley, the organisation’s mission is to provide a creative space where people of all abilities, backgrounds, and identities can participate fully in the performing arts. As the organisation expands its work, it is looking for committed individuals who share the same passion for accessibility, representation, and the transformative power of theatre.
NK Theatre welcomes applications from people with a wide range of experiences, in particular candidates with skills or backgrounds in the following areas:
- Legal & Governance – Individuals with legal expertise who can support us in maintaining strong governance, compliance, and policies that safeguard the long-term stability of the organisation.
- Employment Law / HR – Trustees who can offer guidance on employment matters, contracts, inclusive working practices, and the overall wellbeing and support of our staff and volunteers.
- Fundraising & Development – People with experience in fundraising, grant writing, donor stewardship, or strategic income generation to help secure the resources we need to thrive and grow.
- Building Maintenance & Facilities Oversight – Those with hands-on or managerial experience in building maintenance, facilities management, accessibility improvements, or ensuring safe and welcoming creative spaces.
As a member of the Board, Trustees will:
- Help set strategic direction for the company
- Support inclusive and sustainable development
- Attend regular trustee meetings and occasional events
- Work collaboratively with fellow trustees and staff
- Uphold values of access, inclusivity, community, and creativity
If you believe in the importance of inclusive arts and want to use your skills to make a positive difference, please send a short expression of interest outlining your skills, experience, and motivation for joining NK Theatre as a Trustee.
