Naomi Timperley, tech sector entrepreneur and Innovation Director at Stockport’s Merseyway Innovation Centre, has been named the Most Influential Woman in UK Tech for 2025 by Computer Weekly.
Computer Weekley launched its Most Influential Women in UK Tech list in 2012 to improve the visibility of women working in the sector, originally highlighting only 25 women, before expanding to 50 in 2015. This year’s longlist featured more than 770 women in UK tech.
Naomi Timperley topped this year’s list after having previously been named a Computer Weekly Rising Star in 2017, and first featuring in the top 50 in 2018.
In a short video speaking about the accolade, Timperley spoke of its significance to her after being a reader of the publication since the late nineties.
Alongside her role as Innovation Director at Merseyway Innovation Centre where she and colleagues provide support to innovative start-ups and entrepreneurs in Stockport to thrive and grow, Naomi Timperley is co-founder of Tech North Advocates. She is an experienced growth and innovation consultant, having spent 12 years mentoring and working with start-ups and growth businesses, particularly in the tech, digital and creative sectors. She has also delivered the start-up programme for the Turing Innovation Catalyst, with a scale-up programme, the Engine Room, also in the works.
Most recently, she launched End Game, in collaboration with other Greater Manchester business leaders, Nick Richardson, Vikas Shah, Giles Harridge and James Akrigg, to give business founders access to hands-on support at critical stages of their companies’ development.
