
Stockport County’s Edgeley Park will host the next Mayor’s Question Time event, giving the opportunity for Stockport residents to ask their questions of Greater Manchester Mayor, Andy Burnham.
Since June 2017, the Mayor of Greater Manchester has hosted Question Time events. Partnered with key regional media, the Mayor’s Question Time aims to highlight and answer questions on local issues, posted by members of the public. The event gives local residents from the across the city-region the opportunity to have a voice on issues that matter to them.
The Mayor’s Question Time is held quarterly, and rotates though all 10 boroughs of Greater Manchester. Attendees can ask about anything that falls under the Mayor’s control, which includes topics such as healthcare, policing, transport and housing, among others.
The next Mayor’s Question Time event is on Thursday 18 September. The event will take place at Edgeley Park. 7pm arrival for a 7:30pm start. While the event can accept people arriving on the night if there is space, those interested in attending are encouraged to to book a ticket in advance to guarantee a place.
When people register to attend, they are able to submit a question. These questions are shortlisted by an independent local journalist who hosts the event to make sure there is a broad range of topics discussed. There is also opportunity to ask questions on the night.
