Manchester Airport has launched a free subscription service for travel agents and industry professionals in the North West.
The Travel Trade Community will give those who sign up access to regular e-newsletters featuring current trade and airline news and updates on all things Manchester Airport, including the airport’s Transformation Programme and redevelopment of Terminal 2, as well as new lounge products, security process updates, and new retail, food and beverage options as they open.
Members will also get first option on special events, airline and airport tours, along with access to competitions, incentives, training videos and a range of networking opportunities. Manchester Airport’s route network is unmatched in the North, with more than 200 destinations served by around 50 airlines.
Driving the Travel Trade Community is Emily Lockwood, recently appointed into the newly-created role of Travel Trade Manager within Manchester Airport’s Commercial team. Emily, whose previous roles have included Brand Manager and Senior Product Development Manager positions in the Aviation and Adventure Travel industries, is tasked with acting as a primary point of contact for Travel Trade partners. She will focus on fostering further collaboration between the airport and travel industry professionals, to help broaden the horizons of travellers planning their next trip.
Speaking on her new role, Emily Lockwood said:
“I’m thrilled to get started in my new role, focusing on building strong, collaborative relationships across the travel trade to champion Manchester Airport’s growth. With over a decade of experience in the travel industry, I’m looking forward to exploring new ways to connect and create standout events that showcase our network and exceptional airline partners.
“One of those initiatives is the Travel Trade Community and we’re excited to be launching this new service for travel agents and professionals working within the travel trade, giving them the inside track on the latest developments in a big year for the airport.
“Next month we gain our first direct route to Mumbai with IndiGo and we expect more route launch announcements in the near future. On top of that, we’re coming to the conclusion of our £1.3bn transformation programme, creating a world-class experience for our passengers.
“We’re proud of our role in connecting people from across the North with the places they want to travel to. We know our industry partners share that passion and they play a vital role in helping our passengers find the inspiration for their next trip, which is why our new Travel Trade Community is geared towards giving those partners the information and support they need to help make those customers’ wishes a reality.”
