In the last two weeks of November, MAN Diesel & Turbo UK Ltd (MDT-UK) welcomed visitors from the Chilean Navy to their prestigious Academy in Hazel Grove.
Their five representatives
were in Stockport for training
on MAN’s Paxman Valenta
engines currently in use on
some of their vessels.
This training course – run by Technical Instructor Andrew Fenn (pictured 2nd from right) – came as a direct result of a visit from MDT-UK to South America earlier this year.
Other visitors to MDT-UK’s Academy at the same time were four representatives from the Royal Fleet Auxiliary.
Led by Technical Instructor
Roger Scanlon (pictured 2nd

was specifically designed for
the RFA for training on MAN’s
Pielstick PC2 engine type.
All the visitors were impressed by the Academy’s facilities and the quality of the training.
During their stay the visitors were also taken to the Anson Engine Museum in Poynton, Cheshire, where they saw many examples of the local engine heritage.
