Smart Works celebrated their 3rd birthday with a reception at the House of Lords.
Smart Works Greater Manchester, a Stockport based charity empowering unemployed women to get back into work, joined The Rt Hon. the Lord Darling of Roulanish – the former Labour Chancellor Alistair Darling – and invited supporters, volunteers and clients, at a reception at the House of Lords to celebrate the charity’s 3rd birthday.
The charity offers clothing and interview advice to women who want to return to work, giving them confidence in themselves and their abilities.
First set up in London 3 years ago, their success has allowed the charity to grow with Stockport Smart Works opening its doors to women in June 2015.
People came together to recognise the efforts made, and the unique opportunity that it offers – as well as their amazing success, with more than half of their clients finding work with the charity’s help.
A moving speech by Kate Stephens, CEO, thanked everyone involved in the charity’s success, as she invited clients to relate their success stories; a clear demonstration of just how much of a difference Smart Works has made to their lives.
