Local businesses are sharing the same concerns, as found at yesterday’s Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce ‘Action For Business – Stockport’ lunch held at the Village in Cheadle and hosted by Chris Fletcher, Deputy Chief Executive.
Many business owners and managers agreed that the postponement of the renewal of business rates was putting pressure on many businesses with some calling for small business rate relief to be introduced.Concern was also expressed as to just how accessible loans are for businesses who could really benefit from them while networking was identified as being of real benefit in opening up opportunities for businesses to trade together.
The subject of our digital infrastructure was also discussed as we approach the 4G era while transport & local network links are a recurring topic.
On a more positive note, there was a real passion revealed for supporting Apprenticeship schemes in the borough and a coomon feeling to nurture local talent.
